St. Pete eyes Latin American tourists with La Cita conference

It took three years for Ana Fernandez to convince Rick Still to hold his La Cita de las Americas conference of Latin American travel professionals to St. Petersburg.
From Aug. 29 to 31, some 150 companies will descend on the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort Golf Club as travel buyers from several Latin American countries meet up with U.S. suppliers. The goal is to further open up Tampa/St. Pete and promote this part of the Sunshine State as the next big tourist destination for their clientele.
